Who remeber's Holly Hobbie growing up?

If you grew up in the 70s or even in the 80s you should be very familiar with Holly Hobbie there were Holly Hobbie collectibles, dolls, and toys. The new Holly Hobbie has had a whole new face lift including a way cooler wardrobe but her super cuteness and button nose is still the same. There are two episodes on the newest dvd Holly Hobbie & Friends : Marvelous Makeover. In the first episode Holly and her family are moving to Clover and Holly finally gets the chance to go to school with her two best friends Amy and Carrie. The problem is school doesn't always play by the same rules you do and even though they are all at the same school Holly ends up in different classes than her friends.

Lonely, Holly makes friends with the class "geek" and her friends Carrie and Amy end up shunning Holly for hanging with the uncool crowd. Holly luckily sees it differently and decided that even though her new friend may not be just like her, their friendship is worth sticking up for. Amy and Carrie soon find out the hard way what it feels like to be left out and end up finally coming around and realize that just because someone is a bit different than you it does not mean you can't be friends. Plus "geek" can be totally fixed with some great clothes right?

Holly Hobbie certainly isn't the way I remember he growing up but the new dvds are really adorable and parents will certainly appreciate the little girl friendly attire. I really worry sometimes with some of the products marketed at little girls that they are growing up a little too fast these days. I remember playing with my My Little Ponies and Strawberry Shortcake dolls well into my early tweens and now I see little girls not much older than 11 walking around in belly shirts and heels. It's kind of refreshing to see a dvd made age appropriate but still totally "cool".

You can pick up your own copy of Holly Hobbie & Friends : Marvelous Makeover on DVD right now on Amazon!

I have three copies of Holly Hobbie & Friends : Marvelous Makeover to give away to my readers.

I know that you said toy, but I honestly didn't play with toys, because I was obsessed with books from the age of three on. Judy Blume was my favorite author. My mom says that I had a Bert(from Sesame Street) doll that I slept with, but I don't remember.

My favorite toy growing up was my Pound Puppy and his name was Willoughby named after a family member's dog. I carried him everywhere and he got washed so much that my mom had to keep repainting his eyes, said she had to perform "surgery" on him. To this day I still have him and his eyes are still scratched! Thanks so much for such a wonderful giveaway, my girls would love this DVD!

I have to admit that I was such a tomboy growing up. My favorite playthings were my chemistry set and my microscrope. Wanted to be a doctor very early on and dreamed about traveling the world. I ended up being a nurse and traveling the world instead.
