Organic blanket goodness!

We did a review awhile back for Kissaluvs diapers and let me tell you I'm still in love with the the absolutely beautiful cloth diapers they carry. When we were offered one of their new organic baby blankets to try out I jumped at the chance.

The Soothing Baby Organic Cotton Blanket is not the typical baby blanket we have reviewed in the past. There are no designer colors, no customizable trim, its just a plain dye free organic lightweight cotton wrap and at first look those non crunchy organic moms may be thinking, ok whats so special about it?

Well lets go back to when Connor was little. We lived and died by our baby blankets. Connor was not a fussy baby by no means but he was certainly happiest when we had him swaddled and though he may be a shorty now he was a rather long baby and I had the hardest time finding a baby blanket that was not only big enough but held up in the wash. So many of our first swaddling blankets disappointed me to no end. They will pill up in the wash, had no give to them or were just too small to properly swaddle. Lets not even talk about how hideous they looked after a few washings. Not to mention I demanded just about everything out of our swaddling blankets. They became burp cloths, changing pads, drool wipers, rolled up supports in the swing or car seat, and I hate to admit this but on more than one occasion I forgot to bring a towel with me to the bathroom and they even doubled as temporary towels until we made it back to his room. So needless to say COLOR was not even important after the first few days home, what was important was that our swaddling blankets functioned and were comfortable for Connor.

The moment I put my hands on Soothing Baby Organic Cotton Blanket I was totally in love. Its very very generously sized at 42x42 so even bigger babies will be snuggled in with no problems. The size alone is a dead giveaway that a mom designed this blanket as that's the number one complaint I hear from moms is the blankets are just too small. What really gets me though is just how incredibly soft this blanket is! It's so so soft and it has a little bit of give to it, there is no itchy binding, and no tags, just pure blankey goodness. Speaking of which, there are also matching double layered burp cloths so you can give that blanket a rest and actually pull out the Soothing Baby Organic Cotton Burp Cloth out after feedings or if you have some drool to wipe up. heh.
