With it still in the 80s here in Alabama its hard to even imagine a winter wonderland at this point. If we were still in Illinois we would be just starting to be feeling the chill of winter moving in. Even at worst case the very first snowfalls may be seen towards the end of October.
Caillou is ready for winter, and even more so ready for Christmas! Caillou's Winter Wonders releases this month and if your child is a Caillou nut its the perfect stocking stuffer or pre-Christmas gift. I've always called Caillou our little manner trainer as he has to be the most polite and intelligent four year old I have ever seen (animated or not!), honestly have you ever met a four year old boy who takes the time to say "thank you Mommy" more than once a full moon? If Caillou was a real little boy you better bet I would be setting up play dates weekly. heh.
In this DVD there are four episodes including a Christmas episode and three "winter activities" episodes. Something that I fear will end up being almost foreign to my little man as its pretty hard to make snowmen or playing ice hockey in the front yard as snow is a freak occurrence around here. I guess we will just have to rely on visits to the grandparents during the winter. It will be fun to share these episodes with Connor when he gets old enough to understand and I can't wait to cut out his first snowflakes with him, something Caillou enjoys as well. Caillou is a afternoon staple in this household and as it gets closer to the holiday season I will make a bet we will be watching this dvd more and more.

It's a great cartoon. Caillou is a normal little boy like mine and the lessons are great.
I don't know much about Caillou yet, as my daughter is just getting to an age where she likes to watch. He seems wholesome though, and not annoying like *some* cartoons! Also, I'd love to have a Winter Wonderland DVD to watch because we never get to see such a thing here in South Carolina. When there's half an inch of snow, we run out and play in it like it's going out of style :-)

I like the strong family bonds that Caliou teaches are so important. It's nice to see a cartoon with then entire family from grandparents to siblings that act like they love each other without resorting to sarcasm.
