A cuddly version of Sid the Science Kid!

Jim Henson shows were the staple of my childhood and I still really appreciate the work of the company he left behind. Up till recently we'd not yet seen Sid the Science Kid but when we found out we'd be doing a review for the Talkin' Sid The Science Kid plush we had to check it out.

I can remeber a few science shows growing up that I absolutely loved, it was a fun way to learn and be entertained as well. My grandmother may not have appreciated my reenactments of some of the experiments with my grandfather in her kitchen though. heh. Sid the Science Kid is a great science show for kids of this generation. He's a really cute animated guy who is really overly enthusiastic about science and learning.

We were sent a Talkin' Sid The Science Kid talking plush to review. The funny thing is he looks EXACTLY like his TV counterpart, even down to how he looks a bit fuzzy in the episodes and his microphone! My first reaction was, wow he's just as cute as his animated version! The Talkin' Sid The Science Kid plush says seven phrases from the show and even includes his very own dvd episode of the show as well. Up till now Connor had never been introduced to Sid The Science kid though we did catch a few episodes on PBS right after Sid got here and Connor had a blast watching the episodes while hanging out with his very own Sid at home. There is something about being able to physically interact with your favorite characters that makes watching a show even more fun.

Talkin' Sid The Science Kid
is available at Toys 'R Us and retails for $24.99 (though he is currently on sale for $19.99!!). You can pick up a coupon for $3 off a Talkin' Sid The Science Kid as well at coupons.com (look under toys and games) for a limited time! This makes Sid a great last second gift for the holidays!! If you use the coupon and pick him up on sale you'll get a Sid for about $17 plus tax which is an awesome deal!!

The Jim Henson production company would like to give away a second Talkin' Sid The Science to one of our readers!

Sid , Gerald, Mae, Gabrella, Zeke and the adults are a regular in our house. My 5 year old grand-daughter thinks Sid is cool because they are both 5 and have little brothers. Her teacher has even commented how her science skills have improved since she started watching everyday after she gets home from school.

Our 2 year old grandsone loves watching Sid. He likes Sid, but loves watching Zeke and Gerald. He's started running into the kitchen yelling " Breakfast Time!!!"

I even love the show. I knew it would be a winner with Henson Productions doing it.
