Unique indoor entertainment!

I've seen quite a few toys doing these reviews but none have been quite as simple, unique, and totally fun as the Funslide Carpet Skates.

What are Carpet Skates? Well they are exactly what they sound like. Funslide Carpet Skates are a one size fits flat bottomed "skate" that just straps onto your shoes. Carpet Skates look pretty simple out of the box, a flat plastic piece with a foam insert that fits against the shoe to keep it from slipping, and of course a strap that hooks over your shoes.. I have to say they sat in my review closet for a few weeks as all the flashy toys kept beating them out with my testers. Though the moment we got them out and really took them for a spend I have been raving about them ever since!

So how exactly does a flat plastic "skate" offer so much? Well the answer to that is in just how incredibly slippy the bottom of the Carpet Skate is. I took the Carpet Skates for the first spin as they fit any shoe from a kindergardener all the way up to a size 15 mans shoe. I have fairly small feet so I never doubted they would fit me, but seriously anyone can use them. The funny part is I got a little brave and took off running with them on my feet and ended up on my butt. The Carpet Skates's secret is that they are INCREDIBLY slick. So I wouldn't recommend taking off in a full run until you get the hang of them but once you do its pretty much just like skating on wheeled skates. The front of the skate has a rough end so you can stop with your toes just like you would with regular skates. Actually it reminds me of sliding around the house in socks but with a lot more speed. You can use them to play indoor hockey, really anything you can think of. The only drawback is you have to have carpet as they do not work on hard wood floors or tiles.

The biggest surprise, parents will be as entertained as kid by Funslide Carpet Skates. Sure the kids loved them, but I found myself wishing I had more carpet so I could slide all around the house. If only I had had these things when I had a carpeted basement I'm not sure Id ever take them off. The other surprise is just how inexpensive they are. If your looking for a birthday present, a stocking stuffer or just a surprise gift at less than $20 a set they are incredibly affordable especially seeing as with one size fits all you do not need to buy a separate set for everyone in the family and no one will ever outgrow them. I would highly recommend buying several pairs as they are best enjoyed with others!

You can learn more about Funslide Carpet Skates on the Funslides website as well as buy your own pair!!

I have a pair of Funslide Carpet Skates to give away to one reader!

They look like fun and a lot more sophisticated than the pieces of cardboard my siblings and I used to attach to our feet to slid on the carpet.

My 8 year old would have so much fun with these! Now there would be a reason to run in the house! Johnny isn't very coordinated...he's always tripping or falling. Skateboarding he loves, but he's always getting banged up. I think the Carpet Skates would be great for him because if he fell, the carpet is a bit of padding! Thanks for this great giveaway!
