Indiana Jones on blu-ray!

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on blu-ray is exactly the sort of movie that makes paying extra for my blu-ray player totally worth it to me. Sure every movie looks better in blu-ray but there is just something about seeing the really great ones on the extra crisp resolution that bluray gives you.

There is something about seeing Indiana Jones movies on the big screen but if your not lucky enough to have a theather in your basement most of us dont' get that luxury more than possibly once or twice if we actually get to make it to the theather after baby sitters, busy schedules, and of course the kids. Though I have to say seeing it in bluray is almost better and it certainly delivers the same sort of excitement as you will get in a theather as the sound quality is excellent.

There is something old school about Indiana Jones movies, the Crystal Skull though it does utilize new cgi effects the thing that I always remeber about Indiana Jones is the sound effects and explosions. Possibly the reason I take so much notice in this series verses others is the nostaligic value that I hold on Indiana Jones movies and my childhood. Experincing Indiana Jones in blu-ray gives not only the movie a picture that can't be equaled but the 5.1 Dolby sound is unreal I swear you can hear people breathing.

Blu-ray features always seem to include a rediculous amount of extras and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull does not dissapoint. With the first disk being filled to the brim with extras the set comes with a whole extra DVD full of extras as well and almost all of them are in HD. A feature all in itself the production diary is almost as long as a movie all on its own. At 80 minutes long I'll be honest I didn't get a chance to watch all of it yet but I loved the action footage. Stunts seem to be a dying art form as so much can be faked these days with CGI thats its really nice to see some life action stunts. Thats one of the things that really makes this series special.
