I thought I had enough to afraid of!!

This year has been the year of new fears, be afraid of plants, creepy dolls (ok thats not a new one but I almost forgot), and now Truckers?!

I never saw the orginal Joy Ride movie but Joy Ride 2 : Dead Ahead reminds me of the classic halloween release horror movie. Gore, loose but strangely in the moment believable plot, and the unexpected bad guy. Joy Ride 2 starts off like so many horror movies to... a group of young incredibly attractive friends on a road trip to Vegas for some partying, in this case some pre wedding partying! The twist is that instead of the young attractive girl being abducted by the big hulking bad guy its actually the groom that gets obducted and its the girls who are left to try to rescue the soon to be husband. Ok, one of them is a guy but he's a little punk guy and though I really think punk guys are adorable he's awfully scrawny.

You know with Halloween coming I was actually really excited to get Joy Ride 2. There is something about the classic weird bad guy in the middle of no where type horror movies that gets me in the mood to scare the crap out of the kids that come to my house for trick or treating. Which reminds me if any of you are planning on coming by on Halloween night I will highly recommend you bring extra under pants.. heh. I've seen horror movies with horribly disfigured inbred siblings, dead guys with masks, crazy dolls that still scare the crap out of me, but a trucker? That's a new one and it was really kind of refreshing. I was actually really suprised at how well it was produced for a direct to DVD film and though its no Oscar winning film its a great flick to watch one creepy October night.
