Some good wizardly fun!

The Wizards of Waverly Place reminds me a bit of my favorite movie as a kid, I loved it so much that I actually wore out two VCR recordings of it, yes thats right VCR.. heh. I was a HUGE fan growing up of the Worst Witch HBO TV special and as much as I loved Mildred I have to say that Mildred was far behind on the fashion scene than Alex in Wizards of Waverly Place!

What’s it like to suddenly discover that you have the most awesome magical powers ever? Three siblings find out in Wizards of Waverly Place, coming to Disney DVD from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment on July 29, 2008. For the very first time, four episodes of this spellbinding Disney Channel Original Series come together in one bewitching DVD with an amazing and exclusive bonus features.

Face paced, goofy, and the constant turmoil between Alex and her brother Justin keeps you on your feet and giggling. Though the weird cackling of the Dr. Evilini creeps me out a bit honestly. Its a bit like a magical version of Saved by the Bell. Only one small note... do those robes look a bit familuar to you? heh.

Here is the official info :
Alex Russo and her brothers Justin and Max suddenly go from being your average, ordinary
kids to discovering their family’s astonishing secret—they are wizards in training! Navigating
the unpredictable politics of Wizards’ School, trying to control amazing new powers and fixing
magic spells gone awry are just part of everyday life for these teenagers. With a red-hot young
cast that includes Selena Gomez (guest appearances on Hannah Montana and The Suite Life
of Zack & Cody), David Henrie (guest appearances on That’s So Raven and How I Met Your
Mother) and Jake T. Austin (Johnny Kapahala), as well as Maria Canals-Barrera and David
DeLuise, Wizards of Waverly Place conjures up nonstop laughs as these three siblings find
themselves up to their necks in the art of wizardry.

Oh wow...my girls and I love this show and watch it avidly on Disney...We love the show where the youngest one has his power developing and has to wear a hat until he has it under control, but while he deals with that issue, Alex drinks a love potion (both sides) and falls madly in love with herself and everytime she talks about how great she is her head bloats...but when she bags on herself it shrinks...This is just an absolute favorite in our home!!!

Please count me in for this giveaway, I'd love to win this for my girls and I!!!

My favorite wizard movies are of course Harry Potter. When this show first started previewing, my kids were excited because it reminded them of HP. It is a cute show & one of the few Disney shows that don't totally drive me nuts.

Most of Disney shows center around dating & they are kids. This one is at least something different!

The Harry Poter movies, of course, in order.

Please don't forget, though, Gandolf in the Lord of the Rings movies. (I didn't pick them because, although there is a fair amount of wizardry in them, they are not what I think of technically as "wizard" movies. (Except in terms of the British slang, as they were real wizard!)
