My ShooShoos are shootastic!

Ok maybe the title is a bit goofy, but I am really that excited over these shoes.

We recently just discovered ShooShoos and I almost passed out when I saw the price on these great soft soled shoes, so I had to ask for a review pair. ShooShoo's happily sent over two pairs one for Connor and one for our guest blogger Stacy and he son Sagan right away. Honestly my first thought was at $12-19 a pair there is just no way.. NO way. I've reviewed quite a few pairs of soft soled shoes on the blog before, but never a pair under $20 much less an entire line of shoes that are under $20.. seriously? (See I am still in shock)

Connor got a pair of the puppy dog's, of course, which are one of the more expensive pairs of ShooShoos at $19.95. My first impression was really shock and awe.. they are beautifully decorated down to every last detail, even the buckle on the collar features a shiny leather so it really stands out. ShooShoos are made of a more medium weight leather which causes the cuffs that go around the child's ankle to be a bit puffier than most soft soles which worked out beautifully for Connor as he suffers from eczema around his ankles and on the tops of his feet and some shoes end up a bit too tight around his ankles and I end up having to take them off often so they don't aggravate his eczema. These shoes fit snug so he can't get them off but the extra padding helps cushion his delicate ankles so he can wear them pretty much all day. Really the only thing at all I can say about them is on the puppy design the ears are totally free floating which is adorable, but Connor tries to eat the ears. Its not actually the shoe's fault that my son can't keep anything out of his mouth, but just encase I think I am going to pick up some leather glue or pull out my leather sewing kit and tack down the ears on the ends just so he can't get them totally in his mouth. If your child is not a billy goat like mine is, I'd leave them be as they are an adorable feature on the design as the ears flop around a bit as they walk.

Sagan and Stacy got a pair of the helicopters and fell in love, this is what they had to say :

I was so thrilled to put these on my babies feet, as he never stops moving! We had a big problem with the bottoms of other soft soled shoes getting "slippery" as the leather aged and became matted down, but so far, he has been bouncing around like a monkey in his ShooShoos and no matting is apparent on their fuzzy, smooshy, suede-like bottoms. The leather through out the shoe is buttery soft, and the little elastic part around the ankles is extremely well made, with no elastic showing through, like some other pairs. It is well stitched and holds them on tightly with out restriction. The colors are bright and cheerful, the helicopter design on them is top notch. We absolutely love these soft soled shoes, and I am really impressed with how well they are holding up to the torture of being thrown, ran around on the driveway in, chewed during diaper changes, etc. They maintain their shape a little better than some other brands, and I notice little to no thread or stitch loosening, even on the design. The price is something you can't beat, they are well worth the money. Over all, ShooShoo's are our new favorites around here... my son has very big feet for his age ( toddler 7) and the the 24 month ones fit him beautifully.

One last thing I should note.. there are several styles of
ShooShoos available currently for $12.95.. these styles are of limited quantities so if you see something you want in the cheaper styles buy them as they may not be there later! Believe me at that price you can't go wrong!!
