Markers that wont leave marks on the walls!

I kinda feel sorry for my mom, with all these great washable or clear marker inventions since when I was a kid it makes you wonder how mom's coped when markers didn't wash out and it wasn't so easy to get them off the walls, floors, carpets, ceilings.. really any place a child could reach.

The Crayola Color Wonder markers leave me a bit baffled. Markers when I were growing up were just markers.. minus diffrent tip lengths, widths, ect basically they were all the same thing and they all stained your clothes and hands. Boy have things changed.

We received a set of the Color Wonder Glitter Paints and the Color Wonder Brush Tips to review. My first impression of the Crayola Color Wonder line is its totally clear so if it ends up on the table, floors, or walls.. its pretty hard to see it and I did test it it does wash up with just some warm water and a rag. On the table the Color Wonder paint brushes leave what looks like hand smudges and honestly if I wasn't looking for them I would have written them off as more dinnertime mess and not even markers.

The Color Wonder Glitter Paint is truely a girl's dream come true... I loved to do any art project with glitter when I was a kid (still do) but my mom hated it as it gets everywhere. I did some painting with the Color Wonder Glitter Paint as it claims that the glitter stays on the page, so we painted and painted and let it dry... and came back to do the shake test. With a simple shake test the glitter does indeed stay on the paper without a doubt. So with the shake test going down with flying colors we tried everything we could to get the glitter of the page. It comes down to having to SCRAPE the glitter off the page. Sure its possible but I actually had to dig at it with my fingernail or the end of a pen to actually get it off which I would say counts as passing the glitter mess test, which all mom's should appreciate. The brushes themselves have a wide brush that you must squeeze to get the paint onto the brush. It makes cleanup super simple but the disadvantage is that the brushes are so wide it's hard to make a really detailed picture. They are perfect for very large canvases though! I do recommend you keep the red stoppers that come with the brushes for storage though!

The Color Wonder Brush Tips is really quite diffrent than the Glitter Paints. They are basically a marker and you do not have to squeeze them to get them started. The marker's head is very flexible so it paints like a brush but with a marker's size and accuracy. Perfect for smaller art projects these are actually my favorite of the two though I do wish they came in glitter!

I love the idea of the clear paints.. and it certainly makes spills and cleanups a breeze to clean up. Really my only complaint is the fact that you have to use the Color Wonder paper to actually use the markers. With the price of gas as it is lately I do not like to have to go to the store more than I have to, so I recommend you stock up on the paper or buy several packages of the Color Wonder Paper or Activity Pads.

Personally, if anything I would certainly buy one of the activity books and markers for the car as cleaning marker out of the car is a nightmare, and they would be perfect for doctor's visits and friend's houses as you don't have to worry about explaining the "marker all over the table" bit to them.

Color Wonder is available directly from Crayola or you can purchase them at most major retailers or art supply stores!

Crayola sent me a gift pack to give away to one of our readers! I have a Color Wonder Glitter Paint and a Color Wonder Brush Tips Set here for one lucky reader!

We love the Crayola Color Wonder products. They give me such a peace of mind and my two year old a lot of freedom to color and explore her creative side. I guess my other favorite Crayola product would have to be the washable crayons, they come off everything, even fabric. I have tried other brands of "Washable" crayons and there is just no comparison. Crayola is the best in this mom's opinion.

The custom box creator is a kinda cool idea, I could see doing it in a school's colors for a kid headed off to college or something fun like that. Altho 11 bucks for just four colors is a bit steep...altho if I knew the right person I might just spring for it. :)

Of course, we love the Color Wonder products in my house. My son has gone through so many of the coloring books. We also like the Color Explosion stuff and the sidewalk chalk. I like the construction paper crayons because the colors show up very vividly on construction paper unlike regular crayons.

I have always been a fan of the creativity of Crayola products, but I never new they also have t-shirts. I would like to get one of those.
