Movie Night : Strange Wilderness

Animal enthusiast Peter Gaulke (Steve Zahn) and his sidekick Fred Wolf (Allen Covert) host an ailing wildlife TV show “Strange Wilderness,” which is in a steep ratings decline. Desperate to save the show, Peter hatches a Hail Mary scheme to find the one animal that could truly turn the show around and change the nature-show landscape forever – Bigfoot.

We watched Strange Wilderness last night and I have to mention first and foremost this is NOT a movie for children, it includes nudity, violence, a host of foul language, drugs, and sexual content. With that said its tons of fun for the adults. (All the things Dads love!)

Plagued by a string of bad luck the cast of "Strange Wilderness" sets of on a adventure to find big foot and save their beloved wildlife show. Produced by Happy Madison productions (one of my favorite comedy production houses) I had high hopes for this film. Though it wasn't exactly how I expected, it certainly did leave me laughing.

My favorite scene of the entire movie is during a meeting the crew of Strange Wilderness have to discuss how they are going to save their show from being canceled. The new member of their crew, Junior (Justin Long) appears to be sitting there listening though something looks off about his eyes. When they ask his opinion and he doesn't respond someone nudges him and it turns out he was asleep and he has tattooed eyeballs on his eyelids. Its just so odd and creepy looking you can't help to laugh. The entire rest of the movie he is walking around with those tattoos on his eyelids and you can't help to be distracted by them.
