Finally a pet that wont pee on the floor ... Wowee Roboquad

Its no secret I'm a robot junkie. Prizeatron's logo is a tribute to that. I think all the robot movies I watched growing up had a long term affect.

Wowwee is one of the robot toy makers that I have been watching... their robots are super affordable, and it seems every year and generation has been an improvement.

New to the Wowwee lineup the Roboquad looks a bit like a cross between a spider and Johnny-5 (the robot from short circuit, which by the way is my favorite robot movie!!). I love the face but I was a bit thrown back by the legs at first as I am not a huge spider fan.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by Roboquad . Of the Wowwee robots I have experienced in the past this one has the best AI Ive seen yet which gives him a true pet like quality that many other toy robots lack. Though he does have a remote and you can program him to do any series of moves you may want, my favorite mode is the autonomous mode which leaves Roboquad to explore his "world" on his own with no help from you. Nothing is funnier than watching Roboquad freak out the chihuahuas! Unlike many other robots in this price range Roboquad can both see and react to things around him and his eyesight is good enough that he rarely seems to bump into anything when crawling around my toy infested floors.

At $89.99 he may not be the cheapest robot on the block but his features certainly outweigh any extra price you may pay when looking for a new robot pal.

Want one?
Roboquad is available on Amazon as well as many major retailers.

Win one!!!
Yes you heard me right.. you can win your very own Roboquad right here!! I know most of my contests are fairly easy.. but seeing as Roboquad has the ability to make the lucky winner's kid pee on themselves with excitement I wanna raise the stakes a little. Be creative with your entries... As we will be picking the winner with the best entry! This contest will run longer than our typical one week contests and we want to make sure everyone has a fair shot!

To enter :

  • Leave a comment on this post. Go check out Wowwee and look through their offerings. Come back here and tell me which product you'd most like to have!! Some suggestions for a creative entry would be write me a poem about robots, take a picture as your dog dressed up as Roboquad, video tape yourself singing about Roboquad ... whatever suits your fancy. Responses do not need to be essays length just gimme something good!

Personally, I'd like to have the RoboPanda. I know Connor would love the RoboRaptor though. I would like the RoboPod to give to Connor. He loves scientific type things, and a robot would be just up his alley.

Robosapien V3 would be a great friend
My sons would love him to the end

Now that they've seen him, they will whine and cry
So pick me or I may have to poke out my own eye!
~Okay, so I'm not much of a poet, but I should at least get an "A" for effort~!!!

How about a limerick?

My son has been asking for a robo raptor
In my head, I can hear peals of laughter
If I won a Roboquad
He would think me a god.
And I'd have to explain that to his pastor.

the robopet is my favorite as I love dogs but my youngest is afraid of them so we are waiting for her to get older before we get a dog

Oh Roboquad I see you dance!
Please come dance with us!
We dance all day (really we do)!
Come home and I can retire my dancing shoes (for at least an hour)!
You can dance with the Princesses (we will even make you a crown)!
Are you tired of dancing?
Don't worry they fall asleep eventually!
Then you and I can play!
I had a robot once, Alphie (Oh how I miss him)!
He did not move, only played songs and some counting games when I was 3!
You are cooler, you can bring out my engineering geekness!
Please come home with me!
I tried to build a robot once, I will not tell you how sad the attempt was!
But with you I can have my robot I always dreamed of and my feet will be saved!!

Ok, if I purchased from the site, I'd have to get the Dragonfly. COME ON! That thing is awesome.. My son and I would have hours of fun with this....

... Now, speaking of my son, he's the reason I'd want to win the Roboquad. Imagine this, you are a 13 year old boy. You have two older sisters and three younger.

Oh, and you have a single mom raising you. Yea... That's my boy.
I'm going to take you on a quick journey of my son's life.

* You come home from school and all of your lego men are in various poses, similar to a Shakespearean play. Filled with romance and mystery, the sad part... they are your army men legos.

* You finally find your favorite baseball cap, only to have it drawn on in pink and reds, though, the flowers look amazingly well done!

* Pink ribbons in the hair is a daily ritual, however, he's still holding out on getting lipsticked up.

* When you score a goal at basketball, it sounds like the Beatles walked into the room, squeals from all your sisters is almost embarrasing!

* You have worn pink socks, because that was all you could find.

* He's cried everytime I had another girl, still hanging on to hope that there will be a little brother in the future.

* If he hears, "Oh, you'll make a great husband one day" again, he will scream!

Now... Imagine his life with the RoboQuad... Yea.. makes ya smile doesn't it? He'd have his own private friend, and someone he could protect from bows, lipstick, fingernail polish and scented body wash.

I'll even send out pictures of his tormentors (also called sisters) if you would like!

Great giveaway! Thank you for letting me tell you about my son!

From a land in the far east
Comes this cute little beast.
With fur of black and white
He is such a delight.
Made now into a robotic toy
Sure to please a girl or boy.
He sings, jokes and plays a game
Robopanda is his name.

the flytech dragonfly is my choice. why?

we live in an area of the country where bugs just never die unless we step on them multiple times. i get the chills just thinking about it! perhaps the flytech dragonfly will scare the living daylights out of the bugs and flying things currently in the house. is that even possible?

I've wanted a RoboSapien for 4 years. I even saw one in a Korean music video. RoboSapiens get around.

Tokyo 2020
I'm popping coffee and bacon pills for breakfast.
Husband walks in.
Him: "Can you do this list of stuff for me today? You're home all day anyway."

Me: "You think I have nothing to do? Unlike the office, being a mom and entrepreneur is a constant around the clock gig. If I didn't take these super concentrated coffee pills, I'd fall down."

Him: "You could at least use your Makeup Artist Robot once in a while.
I'd rather sleep with Jennifer Lopez's preserved butt."

Me: "I run after the daughters all day to keep in shape. The front of you looks like Jennifer Lopez's preserved butt. Put down the donut and beer pills."

Him" Ow! My butt!"

Me: "That's right RoboQuad! Bite Daddy! That'll learn him. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA."

Its a plus for Robo panda; Here goes the poem: Wowee and Roboquad gives the very best so why not enjoy the only best!!!!!!

I choose ROBOPANDA...because I know my mom would think it's soooo cute.

Here's my poem: I made it a sonnet.

R O B E R T A :
[Robot Of BERyllium/Titanium Alloy]

Conceived in theoretical design,

Developed at a military base,

The parts of her robotics intertwine

For intricate contingencies in space.

The secret of her surreptitious role

Remains within the maze of mystery.

Her inner core of nuclear control

Exemplifies a rare technology.

A hundred million geniuses can't match

The brilliance of her artificial brain.

Computers in her body's power patch

Are too complex for someone to explain.

However, though her circuits are replete,

ROBERTA is already obsolete.
