Book Review : Knuffle Bunny

Knuffle Bunny

I think everyone can relate to Knuffle Bunny on some level. What kid does not go through childhood with at least one favorite stuffed animal, blanket, or imaginary friend (or in my case all three).

What happens when Trixie and her Daddy set out to the laundry mat to do what seems like an innocent chore of washing clothes. Poor Knuffle Bunny has gone missing... and Trixie is too young still to talk, so how else is she going to tell her Daddy that Knuffle Bunny is gone? Throw a fit!

Hmmm... I wonder if when Connor is throwing fits its because he thinks I sat on his imaginary friend(s). I wonder as there are many stories of a little kid a really really long time ago in a kingdom far far away (lets not mention names) who made her Mommy and Daddy drive back hours and hours because she left her three imaginary friends (yes three...) in the hotel. Or the countless times her Dad sat on them (darn those dads!). Ugg I hope not as honestly I'm not so sure I can be patient enough to drive back three hours one way to pick up the imaginary trio of friends.

With that aside, Knuffle Bunny is one of the most uniquely illustrated books I've come across. With a mixture of actual sepia photos combined with drawings its really a whole new world in pictures. I especially love the family photos in the beginning of the book.. and for all those parents out there you MUST check out the second photo as I think every parent will identify with the first family photo. I honestly did not even notice it until after I had put Connor to bed and I went back to flip through the book while sipping on my drink. I almost snorted the entire drink back onto the book, thank goodness I was able to control myself.

Now I just need a Knuffle Bunny of my own... pronto. They actually sell them here!

Knuffle Bunny is available on Amazon! Check out Knuffle Bunny Two as well! (review coming soon)

We don't have a favorite stuffed animal or blankie yet..... but when we do, I hope we don't lose it. Looks like a cute book.
