Book Review : God Gave Us You & Giveaway

God Gave Us You
by Lisa Tawn Bergren

I absolutely love this book for two reasons, the most important reason is it does not shy away from where babies really come from.. not that it is graphic in any way but it does explain in a very very child friendly way that babies that babies come from a mommies tummy not from a cabbage patch or a stork (like i was told *ahem*). There is actually a picture in this book that made me smile and actually wish I was still pregnant (which is amazing all in its own right) of the Mama Bear hugely pregnant staring down at her huge stomach! Lisa has a way of using the most soothing voice for the Mama Bear, which is reassuring and loving. This book would be great for little ones of all ages but if you have a toddler that is starting to ask how they got here this is a great book to help you start that conversation in a way that you can both be comfortable with.

This is only one book of a entire series of "God Gave Us" books. Visit Lisa at her webpage to learn more about the series and her other books.

It sounds like I would really enjoy The Bridge, but I'd much rather read to my 3 little grandchildren than be by myself. So the God Gave Us...series would definitely be my favorites:)

I really like the premise behind "God Encounter" - sounds like a clever way to find focus. As you know - the start of the semester sends everything askew.

Thanks!
