The dvd for Barney A-Counting We Will Go is a 54 minute special feature and is a bit short compared to most Barney dvds if you ask me. Baby Bop is having problems with counting and Barney and the gang take her to a make-believe market to help teach her her numbers and let her practice. It's a great lesson not only in counting but in the fact that it's ok to admit that you don't know how. I think so much pressure is put on kids these days to not only be counting but reading as well when they get to kindergarten that they end up feeling ashamed if they don't know how, or are having problems. Baby Bop's friends had no problems helping her out!
The included activity book is small and a paper back so smaller hands may have some problems using it and its a little more advanced than really useful to toddlers though preschoolers and the kindergarten set will find it a ton of fun. Both the dvd and workbook would be a perfect addition to a car trip or over the holidays when everyone makes trips to grandma and grandpa's house! Also included on the dvd is a Counting in the Garden dvd game which helps reinforce the skills learned and talked about during the Barney episode.
