Painting has never been so much fun.

I'm a big fan of painting, but the cleanup on small kids with paintbrushes can be a nightmare and I don't even want to consider paint on the rugs. We recently did a review for the Crayola Color Wonder line of glitter paints and paint brushes which are fabulously clear until you paint on the Color Wonder paper. The great thing about that is if they paint on the table, their clothes, or the dreaded rug no one would ever know.

The only issue with this is that.. well .. the paint is clear and how much fun is that? It's still fun but I'm a visual person and there is something unfullfilling about a jar of clear paint. Sure it goes on in color but it's just slightly disheartening to paint with colorless paint. Well with that said there is absolutely no reason to paint with clear paint anymore and mom can still be just as excited about not having red paint on the floors.

The new Color Wonder Magic Light Brush magically shows off the clear paints color. Just dip the light brush in the paint and it will glow the correct color. Kids will think its a magic trick, but its not that complex but it is rather cool. You will need to buy the color wonder magic light paint pots that come in a strip that fit in to the base of the paint brush. As you dip your brush into the paints the light on the brush changes color. I have to be honest with you guys.. I'm a bit stumped as to how it works. I thought possibly there was some sort of sensor in the bottom of the pots that lets the brush know what color its using but, um, I looked and looked and there seems to be no sensors just a colored dot at the top of each pot. There does appear to be a small sensor looking dot on the tray where the paints sit, but I'm still a bit baffled. Either way its would most certainly appear to be magic to a younger child.

The disadvantage like I said before with Color Wonder products is you must buy Color Wonder paper and paint for it to work. I have not tested it but the Magic Light may or may not be compatible with other Color Wonder paints you may already have. You would need to put them in an empty Magic Lights paint set if you were to use them at least. However it is compatible with other Color Wonder papers for sure.

Either way I'm more than positive when Connor gets to a painting age I'll be using Color Wonder paints as though I claimed up and down I wouldn't be the crazy don't stain your clothes mom I've found out quite quickly I can't handle stains anywhere. heh. Being able to just wipe up the paints no matter where they are is almost priceless as far as I'm concerned.

The Color Wonder Magic Light Brush set is available for purchase directly from Crayola!

I have a a Color Wonder Magic Light Brush set to give away to one lucky reader!

That set looks like fun! My oldest has ALWAYS been very into art, it helps him express his emotions which is hard for him to do with Autism. Currently, our favourite Crayola product is the Under the Sea 3-D Side Walk chalk set. The three oldest boys have had so much fun with it!
This Christmas the Crayola Star Wars Clone Wars ReColoritz kit is on their lists!

I still think that Crayola crayons are the only crayons to buy! I love their 64 color boxes...such great colors. My daughter in law was concerned that her youngest might use them to color on her wall so she started him on the basic "Color Wonder" product (In fact, I just bought one a couple of days ago for the little guy).
