The Care Bears are back and better than ever in the new two disc DVD set Care Bears : Care-A-Lot Collection.
This collection features 22 of some of the best original episodes of Care Bears packaged in a beautiful two dvd gift box. Seriously I almost flipped my lid when I saw this was coming out. Care Bears was a huge hit for me when I was a kid and I still can't resist them. I actually got Connor a scented Love-a-Lot Care Bear when I was still pregnant with him as I just couldn't resist them, and yes its pink. And though his Dad hates to admit it, Connor loves that Care Bear plush more than I do.
Care Bears are just plain and simple great programming for kids, no violence, great stories, and really the only "scary" part is Professor Coldheart which honestly is not that scary at all. They are after all all about teamwork, caring, and friendship. How much better can it get? And for those of you that think Care Bears are only for girls, well missy you are dead wrong. I mean what little boy doesn't secretly love Bedtime Bear or Grumpy Bear?
With 22 episodes the Care Bears : Care-A-Lot Collection should satisfy any child's appetite for Care Bears at least for about four and a half hours.. heh. I've honestly only made it through the first four episodes as I've been watching them over my lunch hour and I'm loving every second of it. Is it just me but are we having an awful lot of 80's shows republished this month. I keep waiting to see if the Smurfs show up anytime soon?! Heh. Honestly though I couldn't be more thrilled.

The Christmas I was nine years old, my mom bought me and my brother Care Bears. He got Lucky Bear. She got me Grumpy Bear. I'm still hurt over that. Okay, okay. I get it, MOM! I'm a little difficult sometimes! ;)

Love-A-Lot Bear would be our favorite because our oldest loves Care Bears and she is definitely one little girl who loves others freely and shows it by helping everyone in the family. She is mama's biggest helper and she's just amazing! Just like Love-A-Lot Bear she spreads her love where ever she goes.

I had so many favorite car bears in my day. The show originally came on tv when I was young and I kept my two stuffed bears (Bedtime Bear and Funshine Bear). They were always my favorites and when my neice was born I gave them to her. Now she's ready to pass them on to her "coming attraction" when he arrives. And since she's added a few more of the loveable bears to her collection, that will be one "beary" happy boy!

Grumpy Bear, because you can just sense his frustration and it's amusing to watch. Picture the scene from his end---he is stuck with all these over-the-top do-gooders, but to whom can he complain? No one! I can see where it might just make him want to be grumpier than he normally is, just to spite them...lol...

Oooh, hands down, my favorite is Love-A-Lot Bear. I don't have any particular reason other than this was the very first Carebear my parents bought me when they came out in the early 80's, and I loved her so much. Still do infact. I'm 27 years old, and I still have my Love-A-Lot bear that I got from my mum and dad for Christmas 1984 when I was 3 yrs old. She's well loved, but she's gone around the world with me (across the US, to Canada, China, Hong Kong, and Japan) and has now happily been stolen by my 5 year old daughter who loves her and plays with her all the time.
Wow, that was long winded. LOL
Yah, we'd definitely love to win this one. My girls would be thrilled.
