Kid Stuff Review : School Zone Books & Workbooks + Giveaway

In this household we try to keep as many of our toys as possible learning rich without being boring and School Zone offers great baby, toddler, and child activities, games, and books that do just that!

Our favorite is actually way out of Connor's age range, however, don't tell Connor that as he is a sucker for flash cards. Ever since we started the Baby Can Read series (see the past review) he has been fascinated with word flash cards and these 3D Thinks & Blink Alphabet Flash Cards from School Zone are wonderful! We try to spend at least a few minutes each day doing our flash cards and the 3D Thinks & Blink Alphabet Flash Cards are magic, not only are they really pretty but each card "changes" into the word below the letter, even I think they are neat! I don't know if he understands the words or letters quite yet but he will certainly drop everything he is doing and watch the flash cards as if they were the best book I have ever read to him. I only wish I knew what was going through that little baby head of his.

Happy Faces - Infant Mirror Cards are the ultimate "mommy needs a few minutes" distraction for all those moms who have babies that are in the chatty faze. When we first got these a few weeks ago, Connor had no interest in them.. but over the last week he has become incredibly "chatty" and since every time I have offered these cards I almost can't get them back. Basically you get a "mirror" card that you put the other cards on top of changing the picture and the experience for baby. Each card has its own little story and theme. We play with them together and when I need a few minutes to finish some homework (or this post right now) they distract my little man not to mention he is learning valuable language skills which I love too! They are a great tool for those car trips too!

If you have a preschooler or even school age child in your household the Little Hand Helper series of workbooks are wonderful! I'm no stranger to workbooks with many young cousins and long long hours babysitting I've always had some sort of learning activity book handy over the years for young visitors, but I always have found it challenging to find one that will keep a young one's attention very long not to mention. These Little Hand Helper workbooks on the other hand are colorful, no where close to boring, and AFFORDABLE!! The activities are varied so its hard to get bored, and the pictures are colorful and fun so even parents will like helping! At under four dollars each you can afford to have a full drawer full, and I promise you will love them as much as your kids do!

Next on our School Zone wish list would certainly be the Discovery Cards and the Busy People Peg Puzzle Cards.

Thanks for doing this giveaway and thanks for "promoting" School Zone. I was pleasantly surprised with how "cheap" all the products are! I have 5 children- ages 1 through 11 and I like that they have something for all ages and stages of development. Right now, because we are doing multiplication/division with BOTH my 3rd and 6th graders, I would like the flashcards!
I blogged about the contest at http://tracyberta.blogspot.com/2008/03/giveaway.html
