Ever feel like someone is watching you?

Eagle Eye validates all my fears that someone is watching me at all times. heh. Actually to be honest with most cell phones being GPS compatible in a way you are being watched or at least tracked if you carry a cell phone every where you go. Not to pawn off my paranoia on everyone else but in a way we all are being watched at least by computer networks at all times. Hey even the fact that I take this laptop that I'm writing on as I speak almost every where I go you could in theory track me by my wireless access.

Eagle Eye is thriller that plays on the modern day technology that allows our every move to be tracked by a second party. Eagle Eye opens to the main character Jerry coming home to find his apartment has been covered with weapons. He gets a call saying that the FBI is about to raid his apartment and he needs to flee. Talk about the beginning of a bad day. With no time to think about the stress of it all Jerry is forced to flee and follow the insane demands of the voice on the phone. During all of this his costar Rachael is getting similar demands with threats that her son will be killed if she doesn't follow along.

So all the while your wondering who on earth is making these crazy phone calls and forcing both Jerry and Rachael to do almost impossible things without mercy. The answer may surprise you but for those of you like myself who were huge fans of War Games you may already suspect the answer. Actually speaking of which, oddly enough, my biggest paranoia and hugest addiction to computers all was partially sparked by war games. I almost hate to admit this but I couldn't help myself but that really cool phone based modem that was used in War Games inspired a whole decade of my life and my lifelong interest in the social implications of computer communication. I say communication as the Internet did not exist at that time but it was still in the preplanned stage. Can you only imagine just how much life has changed since.. and if War Games seemed a little unbelievable back then Eagle Eye may be a bit unbelievable to you now, but think about the fact that War Games is not only totally believable now but outdated. Ugg I feel the paranoia starting again.

I really don't want to say more about the movie as It will give away the whole plot but seriously if your a big fan of action movies with a twist you will love Eagle Eye. Now If I could find a way to get that gps chip out of my cell phone I would feel a little better about right now.

If your lucky enough to have a bluray player the bluray version of Eagle Eye is a great investment. Action movies are almost always an incredible upgrade in bluray partially from the sound quality but there is just so much you miss in a fast paced movie in standard that you can see crisp and clear in bluray. I honestly wouldn't even think about watching an action movie in standard unless I absolutely had to these days.

There is alot to love about the bluray version's extra features. From bloopers to deleted scenes you will find much of the standard fare in Eagle Eye's extra features. The real gem however is the features that include information about what inspired the movie including an extra feature that explains how your cell phone really can spy on your or that is what is feasibly possible. I just wish they would have never explained it as it will just give crazy people ideas. It may just leave you really reconsidering that whole cell phone thing. I don't know how I could live without my cell phone, even if it does barely work these days, but seriously it does give me second thoughts a bit.
