There is just something about those muppets!

Nothing beats classic Jim Henson there is just something about the old school muppets that I cannot get enough of. Sure the new CGI graphics that many production companies use these days are great but there is just this quality that Henson brought to his productions that have not been reproduced since his passing.

One of his least known features was actually one of my favorites growing up. The Christmas Toy, originally aired on TV around Christmas, it reminds me a bit of an early version of the Toy Story. The toys are restless as its Christmas eve and new toys will be arriving. If you were a toy what would be your worst fear? The toys are a little upset that the new toys might replace them. Rugby the tiger leads the toys out into the living room to check out the new arrivals but unfortunately one of the new toys is ready to start trouble.

Rugby remembers how amazing it was to be the favorite toy last Christmas and wants to be "unwrapped" again, in the process he lets out this kind of crazy doll who has no idea she is a doll at all and she starts causing trouble. The only problem is the toys have to get back to their room before anyone sees them or they risk loosing their ability to move when the people are sleeping.

The Christmas Toy is a awesome production and you can check it out too as its available on DVD and you can pick up your copy on Amazon!

I have one copy of The Christmas Toy to give away to one lucky reader!
