This month has really been my first experiences with DVD games other than the ocassinonal one included as an extra feature in some of my DVDS but really I had no clue they could be so cool.Disney has released the Hanna Montana DVD Game just in time for all Christmas and wow does it ever rock. For those of you like me who have no idea what a DVD game is well basicly its an interactive DVD that you can control with your remote. The earliest thing I can remeber anything like it was when I was little my grandfather invested in a laser disc really the early and huge version of a DVD. It was quite possibly the coolest invention thus far in home entertainment but it never really took off. We hd a kid's laser disc that you could play with by using the remote. I spent hours learning pig latin with that game and it never got old unlike watching a movie fifty times in a row.
The Hanna Montana DVD Game includes 11 games that you can interact with and even set how many players you'd like to play with up to four players on the games. You can play the drums in Hanna's band, test your Hanna trivia skills, host a dance off with your friends, and even sing karoke to Hanna Montana songs. My little test group was five kids in the ranges of five to nine and they absolutely loved it. They loved the dance off, singing karoke, really the only issue they had with it was with some of the party games which was really sort of a Hanna Montana themed kind of pictionary where you either have to act out or draw out whats on the screen for people to guess.. trying to keep all the kid's eyes closed while the clue is given out is difficult. heh.
